Electrolux Dryer Making Loud Noise? Here’s What I Found and Fixed

I got a call about an Electrolux dryer making an unusually loud noise during operation. The client thought it was the rollers causing the noise, but after a quick listen, it was clear that the issue was something more serious – the motor.

Diagnosing the Problem

Upon inspecting the dryer, I could immediately tell the sound wasn’t coming from the rollers. The motor was vibrating intensely, causing the loud noise. It was clear the motor had worn out, and it was time for a replacement.

Fixing the Issue

To get to the root of the problem, I carefully disassembled the dryer. I removed the blower to ensure I could access the motor and thoroughly inspect the unit. After confirming that the motor was indeed the culprit, I also noticed that the blower had sustained damage, likely due to the motor’s excessive vibrations.

Replacing the Motor and Blower

I replaced both the motor and the damaged blower. After reassembling the dryer, I powered it up and tested it. The loud noise was gone, and the dryer ran smoothly again.

Takeaway

If you’re hearing loud noises from your dryer, it might not always be the rollers. Sometimes, the motor could be the culprit, and replacing it can save you from more expensive repairs down the line. Don’t ignore those strange sounds – call a professional for a proper diagnosis and repair!
