Miele Countertop Coffee Machine Not Grinding? Here’s the Fix

Got a service call for a Miele standalone coffee machine that wasn’t grinding coffee. This is actually a common issue—especially with frequent use.

The Problem

The machine would turn on, but wouldn’t grind. No beans were being processed, and the user was getting an error. In most cases, the problem isn’t with the grinder itself—but with the coffee chute getting clogged up.

The Fix

I removed the right side panel to access the grinder and brew unit. Sure enough, the chute where the ground coffee passes through was packed with buildup. Coffee oils and fine grinds collect over time and harden, creating a blockage.

A small brush and some patience were all it took to clear the passage. Once everything was cleaned out and reassembled, the machine was back to grinding and brewing like new.

Takeaway

If your Miele coffee machine stops grinding, don’t panic. It’s often just a clogged chute. Regular maintenance and cleaning can keep your morning brew flowing without issues.
